	November 2004 is ringed on the calendar in the offices at The Fencing Centre - it's the date that Managing Director, Steve Randall, takes on the 'biggest challenge of his life" - travelling to Everest in Nepal as part of the Expedition Trek for Scope, the charity for people with cerebral palsy.

Apart from the personal challenge for Steve, he hopes to be able to provide a substantial donation to Scope - and to this he is collecting sponsorships. Everest Expedition This is a demanding high-altitude event. They will be trekking for 14 days to reach the base camp of Everest and will summit the peak of Kala Patta at 5,545m. Facilities will be extremely basic with only a few small bowls of water to wash in, holes in the ground for toilets and no laundrette for miles! Steve will be dedicating this year to training and preparing for the challenge of a lifetime. Every six hours a baby is born with cerebal palsy in Britain. It can happen to any child. Scope is the largest charity in the UK working with disabled people, their families and carers. This is a fund raising event that Steve has pledged to raise £3,500 which is the cost of a purpose built bath with a hoist, this will enable someone to live in their own home. To set the ball rolling Steve s already donated the first £250 himself.
